Histon Feast June 2018
As part of the Histon and Impington Feast Week, we played a programme of “Music for a Summer Evening” at St Andrew’s Church. We shared the evening with Cambridge-based gypsy jazz band Django’s Tiger – so the audience was presented with a feast of plucked string music.
The MMO played Loftus Jones, Orinoco, Diavitirio, Crahan’s Waltz, Por una Cabeza, Ambrosius Suite No. 6 fur Zupforchester, and Rumba – and finished with our favourite encore item, The Lone Arranger.
Django’s Tiger gave us a treat in the 2nd half of the evening, with some sensational clarinet playing from Pete Newman and wonderful inventive lead guitar lines from Chris Diamond.
